Crafted finishing of non-ferrous metals

The crafted finishing of non-ferrous metals is the linchpin of our company. The intricate ornamentation and beautiful holy figures that adorn our doors and windows are produced in close cooperation with Strassacker Art Foundry. Even with large quantities, our well-functioning production processes guarantee a consistently good quality. In addition, we attach great importance to the individual and elaborate development of unique pieces that feature the special highlights in an ensemble.

From the design to the finished product: The archangel Gabriel

The example of the angel Gabriel demonstrates the process of creating a special work of art. For the sacred figures, we first pass on the order to Strassacker Art Foundry which models and casts the bronze figures. To create the bronze figure, artists require drawings or images as templates. The artists then create a clay model. The model is shown to the customer who can request changes. The model is then customised. If the customer is satisfied with the model, a mould for casting is created from the model.

The bronze casting is delivered to Strassacker Project where the figure is further processed. Imperfections are removed before the figure is patinated. Patination is a chemical process that results from weathering over a long period of time. We accelerate this process by using chemical agents based on traditional techniques. Depending on the composition of the formula, the patination produces various expressive colours. In the case of the angel Gabriel, this colour is a warm and rich dark brown.
